Wells Fargo Arrived Tuesday With Over $5 Million For Home Buyers
Portland is the 22nd US market to benefit from the NeighborhoodLIFT Program provided by the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation and the nonprofit group NeighborWorks America.

WHAT: Grants to help potential home-buyers struggling to save enough money for the down payment by offering a $15,000 grant per eligible applicant for a down-payment.
THE GOOD NEWS:
- Assistance is not limited to first-time buyers.
- Selected eligible homebuyers will receive $15,000 in down payment assistance on qualified properties.
- Annual income of all residents 18 and older must be at or below 120% of the Portland Area Median Income guidelines. For a family of four, that's $83,300; three, $75,000; for a couple, $66,650; and for a single person, $58,350.
- Townhouses and condominium qualify as dob single-family homes.
- Provides homebuyer education for managing the financial responsibilities of homeownership.
- Only 227 applications will be chosen from the Oregon Pool of applicants.
THE BAD NEWS:
- Applicant must either be pre-approved for a mortgage from an approved lender or seek pre-approval from Wells Fargo at the two-day event.
